Organization Center Logo
Organization Center
Management center for device and user permission in your organization

Organization Center offers an organization-based management portal to efficiently manage multiple QNAP devices and user permissions with shared administration.

Why Organization Center?

A QNAP Account (QID) is used for binding QNAP NAS for access permissions. On the other hand, an organization usually implements multiple NAS devices for different departments, brand offices, and locations, resulting in complex and time-consuming management for cross-site devices and user permissions. QNAP provides Organization Center as a single platform that allows IT teams to simplify management using an “Organization – Site – Administrator” structure and comprehensively displays all organization information including sites, administrators, and devices. All the structure settings, authority assignments, and groupings are done from the cloud – removing the inefficiency of logging in and out across large-scale devices. It’s just that simple and convenient.

Manage your organization easier…

  • People

An Owner has the highest authority level in Organization Center. An Owner can invite multiple Administrators for managing QNAP devices in the organization and put them in different Groups.

  • Sites

According to different task attributes in an organization, it is often necessary to set devices on multiple network segment as different Sites. Organization Center allows owners or administrators to bind managed devices to specific sites according to device location or attributes.

  • Devices

Multiple QNAP devices across sites can be bound into an organization or a site via myQNAPcloud App which allows owners or administrators to manage or access devices.

Three benefits of Organization Center

Flexibility: Cloud-based central management

Organization Center can be leveraged by QNAP AMIZcloud central management platform, allowing IT teams to centrally and remotely manage all devices within organizations with greater efficiency and flexibility.

High efficiency: Collaborative management

Create organizations, sites, admin groups, then invite members to join and grant proper management authority in the Organization Center. Layered teamwork for collaborative management helps maximize IT management efficiency.

Quality service: Suited for managed service providers (MSPs)

MSPs can attain optimal productivity by using the Organization Center, where they can centrally manage QNAP devices of all clients across multi-sites – making their managed services more agile and reliable.

How to start using Organization Center?

A Japanese enterprise, headquartered in Tokyo, has an office in Osaka and a branch office in Singapore. To efficiently manage all QNAP devices from three sites, the CIO (Chief Information Officer) utilizes the Organization Center to well plan the management structure “Organization - Site - Administrator” and increase the overall management efficiency. Let’s see how it works:

1

Create an organization

The CIO registers a QNAP Account to enable the Organization Center service. They create an organization and define its name, location, size, and other key information.

2

Create groups

Create multiple management groups based on job functions.

3

Invite administrators

Invite administrators using their QNAP Accounts to specific groups. Invitation emails are sent to the administrators.

4

Grant administrator authority

You can assign invited members as Owners or Administrators

  • Owner privileges:

Create organization/group/site, invite/remove administrator, overview all worklogs, and grant administrator permission for managing end devices or applications within an organization.

  • Administrator privileges:

Only monitor authorized devices. Administrators who are further granted with invitation permission can invite other administrators for device management within organization or site.

5

Add sites and assign administrators

Create 3 sites: Headquarters Tokyo, branch Osaka, and branch Singapore. Then assign administrators or groups as site administrators respectively.

6

Bind device via myQNAPcloud App

HQ administrators can log in QNAP NAS and bind NAS devices at HQ Tokyo to the belonging organization, while all site administrators do the same for binding their site devices.

7

Overview Organization Center status

Now the CIO can easily check all organization information from [My Organization] on the dashboard, including the number of administrators, sites, all devices, and more.
