QNAP RMA Service

All QNAP products come with a limited hardware warranty that includes repair service at no additional cost. For out-of-warranty products, QNAP provides paid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) service based on the product damage level and under the condition that the product is repairable and that components are available.

RMA process

If your product is defective, you can submit a support ticket to QNAP. QNAP customer service will verify whether RMA service is required and provide details such as the designated repair center shipping address. In the event of unexpected product damage, QNAP recommends users purchase warranty extensions.

RMA Packaging Instructions

Proper packaging is crucial to prevent damage when returning your QNAP product. Before packing and returning your QNAP product, you must read and follow the RMA Return Packaging Guidelines.

Before Shipping for Repair Service

  1. If the product requires repairs, it is your responsibility to back up all data on your storage device(s) before returning the product to QNAP. If your product cannot be powered on, please send the device as-is. QNAP is not liable for any data loss during the RMA process.

  2. If you send hardware to our RMA Repair Center, keep in mind: Return your QNAP NAS always without HDDs/SSDs, additional RAM or expansion cards. QNAP will not be responsible for returning of those items back to you. Please return your QNAP NAS only in the original configuration to the RMA Repair Center. If possible use the original packaging. Thank you for your cooperation.

Warranty After RMA Service

If your warranty is still valid, the warranty validity period will continue from the original date of purchase. If your product warranty has expired, QNAP will offer a free 180-day extended warranty, starting from the repaired product delivery date. If the product becomes defective within this 180-day period, you can reapply for RMA service.
