In the past year, with the support of community coalitions throughout the state, we've distributed over 6,900 medication disposal bags and 4,133 lock boxes to Oklahomans! A firm stance against accidental overdoses, keeping our loved ones safe. This is how we build stronger communities, one safety measure at a time. 💙👏 #CommunityOfChange

The new Reviews of deaths of children in care and certain other children – reviewable deaths in 2020 and 2021, considers how agencies and service providers identified and responded to risks and vulnerabilities evident in the lives of the children who died. The report also looks at how agencies and service providers implemented previous NSW Ombudsman recommendations. Reviewable deaths are where the child had died as a result of abuse or neglect or suspected abuse or neglect or had been living in care. Read the report https://ow.ly/aTMW50Qbmkx. This report was tabled yesterday in Parliament by the NSW Ombudsman as part of the Biennial report of the deaths of children in New South Wales: 2020 and 2021. #NSWOmbo

#NationalCrimeVictimsRightsWeek2024 Every individual has the ability to contribute to the support of crime survivors in Williams County. Should a survivor choose to share their experience with you, remember that it’s often challenging to disclose such personal and intimate details. You don’t need to have all the answers, but offering a supportive and encouraging response can profoundly aid the survivor’s journey toward healing. The first step is to aid survivors in assessing their personal safety. This might involve reaching out to emergency services if needed. It’s essential to empower survivors to establish their own safety plan and recognize that they are the experts in their own circumstances. Pressuring them to report or seek additional emergency services against their wishes could result in unintended harm. If the survivor wishes to report the incident or seek medical attention from emergency services, ensure you have those contacts readily available. Encourage them by emphasizing that they can have a dedicated advocate with them at every stage. #NCVRW2024 #YouAreNotAlone #SarahsFriendsSupport #HopeAndHealing #CrimePrevention #CommunityStrength
