Consider becoming an advocate to help include the #kidPROOFAct in upcoming legislation. Through a federal grant program, the Kid PROOF Act can help families store medications and other dangerous items in their homes when their child is in crisis. The grants will allow children’s health providers to give families items like lockboxes and safes to keep dangerous items away from children, #savinglives #preventingoverdoses and helping to #stopsuicides

The federal government cut funding to Adult Protective Services by more than $170 million between 2022 and 2023, even as 10,000 #babyboomers turn 65 each day. As a result, #aging #Americans lose access to resources for #abuse #intervention, affordable housing, meals, and medical care. $100 million from Congress means more case workers, more #scam #prevention, and more help to vulnerable victims. https://lnkd.in/eqaJitki

Strongly recommend those committed to ending smoking read our latest report attached here. What makes it so critical for Brazil? Smoking trends have stagnated. 191000 people die annually from smoking. Almost half the cigarettes sold are illicit. And desite a ban on vapes for 15 years, over 10 million people have tried them. Against this reality we urge authorities to end the ban, embrace tobacco harm reduction in ways Brazil has done so well in tackling drug abuse and AIDS. The result? About 1.3 million premature deaths would be overted, illicit trade and criminality would be reduced, and government would increase tax revenue. Together, we can chart a path towards a future where countless lives are saved from the scourge of tobacco-related deaths. https://lnkd.in/d45ff5i6 #HarmReduction #SmokingCessation #THRWorks #THR

The problem of Medical Kidnappings is not specific to Canada only. US has the same issue - SICK children get misdiagnosed and as victims of abuse by doctors contracted by CAS/CPS and as a result, apprehended and their loving parents who are harassed for months to years until the case goes to trial where they are able to provide evidence of their children's medical issues - despite CAS's and their doctors' desparate appempts to prevent them from accessing the child's medical records and obtaining second medical opinions from experts in the relevant fields. Watch a US documentary Helps that Harms on this topic: https://lnkd.in/gNVC62y9 Watch CTV W5's Dubious Diagnosis for examples from Ontario.
