A humble kiosk in Sydney's Western suburbs is serving up the 'best' steak sandwich that has been 35 years in the making.

Pauly Davelis of Pauly's Deli in the Greenway complex in Wetherill Park, is the proud son of Greek parents who ran a takeaway shop near Mount Druitt for over three decades.

At his smart kiosk capped in neon blue light he is serving sandwiches 'with a side of spicy banter' that foodies are flocking from far and wide to get their hands on.

His O.G steak sandwich ($26) was one of the first things his father taught him once he was on the grill, he told Good Food.

It's a no nonsense white bread slab, slathered with BBQ sauce and filled with grilled scotch fillet balanced by a generous punch of shredded fresh lettuce, beetroot, tomato, cheese and caramelised onion.

Dubbed the 'best' steak sanga in all of Australia, and a firm menu favourite, it proves that classic food, well done, never goes out of style.

'Omg yum we’re coming today,' one person said after seeing a picture of the famous O.G.

Customers also rave about Pauly's G.O.A.T sandwich ($22) which has panko crusted chicken schnitzel and cheese melting into the rich, Pauly's special house made mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and plain white toast.

The sub is an intensely satisfying option with lashings of prosciutto, ham, salami and soft folds of provolone paired with grilled capsicum, a heady olive tapenade, sundried tomato and pesto on a toasted sub roll.

One customer said these 'sensational little Deli style sandwiches...will rock your socks off'.

'Lettuce cut like that is also perfect, I feel like everything was well thought out, awesome to see and taste,' said another.

Although one customer complained their sandwich was a little salty, another reviewer said they would '100 per cent be back'.

Pauly's menu incudes huge breakfast sandwiches, salads, sweets and coffee and ice teas sweetened with syrup.

The wild mushroom sourdough toastie with scrambled eggs and house made hollandaise is also a favourite.

And the divine galaktobouriko (Greek custard pie), a dreamy rice pudding, chilled Greek style frappe and a buzzing Vietnamese coffee also do their bit to set this kiosk apart.

The vibe is chatty, fast and friendly and customers love that sandwiches are made to order.

One reviewer who had to share his huge sandwich with his father said that his hard to impress dad is also now a Pauly's convert.

Pauly's Deli is at Kiosk 5/1187 The Horsley Drive, Wetherill Park.

It is open from Monday to Friday, 8am -2.30pm, Saturday 8am - 3pm and Sunday 9am - 3pm.
