Selma Blair, 52, talks 'wonderful' new boyfriend despite 'never' wanting to marry again due to MS illness - and the miracle treatment that 'saved her life'

Selma Blair declared 'it's possible to find love at 52 and beyond' after falling for a mystery Midwestern man.

'He's wonderful,' the Michigan native gushed in her Us Weekly cover story on Wednesday.

'He's not in this business, although he has produced before. I wanted a Midwest man and I found a real Midwest man.'

Selma continued: 'I saw him from across a table and now he's my boyfriend. [I think] relationships are best kept out of press if possible. Nobody wants to be exposed to scrutiny.'

And while Blair (born Beitner) was married to Ahmet Zappa from 2004 to 2006, she has no plans on walking down the aisle again due to the demands of motherhood, career, and her ongoing battle with multiple sclerosis.

'Fitting anything in as a mother wanting to build a career and figure out when you're going to get your blood treatments in — a boyfriend falls by the wayside really easily,' the Grammy-nominated actress explained.

'That's why I would never want to get married. It's a major setup to fail.'

Selma was previously in on/off relationships with David Lyons and Ron Carlson - the latter of which lead to his 2022 arrest for domestic violence and restraining orders on both sides.

Blair - who got sober in 2016 - spoke with the mag to celebrate Disability Pride Month, and she's 'so much happier' since she was first diagnosed with the autoimmune condition in October 2018.

'So many people come up to me on the street. I've never had that. Being honest about the diagnosis and putting myself out there has been a real enrichment in my life,' the Tribeca Film Festival juror said.

'I'll get MRIs a couple of times a year, and I still do treatments. I know a lot of people can't afford it, but for me, [it] really alleviated the MS progression incredibly. It saved my life. I [also] do IVIG [a therapy that uses antibodies from healthy donors], which keeps me from getting sick.

'If I get sick, all bets are off. That's how I maintain the wellness people see. Some are [considered] experimental but nothing is so left-field — I'm not rich enough to go to Sweden or Germany to do all these wild things.'

Selma has come a long way since receiving chemotherapy and a hematopoietic stem cell transplant at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago in 2019, which was all captured for her Discovery+ doc Introducing, Selma Blair.'

Blair - who experienced MS symptoms as early as age 7 - sometimes receives criticism online from people who say things like, 'She can walk without a cane; that was a lie.'

'Yeah. There's always the yin and yang,' the Joe Biden supporter said.

'There are a million different reasons why we do what we do, so, stop judging people. There's a lot of hate directed at those things. Like, "How can you wear heels?" There's so many dualities. But the fact is, I'm still a woman. I'm still me.'
