Kudrow appeared in the role of Phoebe, a singer-songwriter, on 234 episodes of the hit comedy that aired over 10 seasons on NBC from 1994-2004.

She was one of the principal members of the show's famed ensemble cast, which also featured Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and the late Matthew Perry.

On Tuesday's episode, Kudrow explained how she felt in the wake of finishing production on the hit comedy, citing an exchange involving her husband Michel Stern and their son Julian Murray Stern.

'Do you know what?' Kudrow said. 'I forgot, and like a week ago it just came up. My husband and son were talking and apparently I was crying in the kitchen. And my son was five and he wanted to know why I was crying.'

Kudrow said her spouse did his best to explain to their son about why she was weeping during the emotional timeframe.

'My husband said, "Well she's sad because Friends is done,"' Kudrow said, 'and he said, "But she can see her friends, she can just call them."

'No clue, I had no clue that he never knew what the show was called, he just knew I worked on a show: "Why is she crying?"'

Kudrow in 2022 told Seth Myers that Julian Murray finally watched Friends when he was ill with COVID-19, and that the feedback was not what she expected.

'He said, "Can I ask you some questions about that?" I'm like, "Yes!" I almost started crying. I didn't think that anyone in my family liked that show.'
