Aussie mum's 'life-changing' mandarin peeling hack wows thousands: 'I've been doing it wrong my whole life'

A mum has left thousands 'mind blown' after sharing a simple hack to cut a mandarin without any fuss.

Erin, from the US, was gobsmacked when she saw the 'genius' method online and decided to try it for herself.

'I was today years old when I learned how to easily cut and peel a mandarin and an orange,' she said in a now-viral video.

'If you're a toddler mum you realise how huge this is.'

Rather than peeling the citrus fruit, the method involves slicing it straight down the middle then flipping out the tasty fruit.

The easy trick means mandarins can be peeled swiftly without making your fingers sticky and orange.

The short video has since caught the attention of the masses and has clocked up an eye-watering 14million views.

'What in the Harry Potter sorcery is this?' one questioned.

'My life changed just now,' another said.

'This hack blew my mind,' a third admitted.

'I'm a nanny to a toddler who is obsessed with mandarins and this just changed the game,' someone else wrote.

Earlier this month foodies were losing their minds after discovering a quick and easy way to open a bag of lollies in seconds - and it works every time.

The lesser-known life hack posted on TikTok left millions 'mind blown' with many wondering how the insight isn't 'common knowledge'.

Anna Antonje, from Germany, shared the 'correct way' to open a lolly bag and captured her shock in a video.

Rather than ripping the packet from the top or corner, there's instead a secret tab hidden on the back which can be teared downwards to open in a seamless motion.

'Don't tell me you KNEW that?!' she captioned a viral TikTok video.
