Mum shares how much she saves by shopping at Costco - and reveals the two products she never buys from the bulk retailer

An Australian mum has compared prices between Costco and Woolworths to share how much customers can save.

Louise Gibson, from Victoria, visits Costco every couple of months to stock up on necessities - including toilet paper, tissues, sanitary pads and wine - and saves $50 per shop.

The 29-year-old, who's better known as 'That Money Mum' on TikTok, told FEMAIL she's been feeling the financial stress due to the cost of living crisis and shops at Aldi on a weekly basis too.

In a video she documented her recent trip to Costco to share how much her favourite items cost.

'If you're not shopping at Costco then this price comparison is going to show you why you really need to be,' she said.

Louise also told FEMAIL she never buys eggs or yoghurt from the wholesale retailer because her family never finish the giant quantity before it expires.

She was shocked by how much cheaper it is shopping at Costco compared to other retailers

'We only get what we need because otherwise it really doesn't work out as cheaper, but this will save us money in the long run,' Louise said.

'I think the same would be more than $200 at Coles and Woolworths.

'This is your sign to start shopping around! One big trip to Costco every couple of months can save you big time.'

First, Kleenex Tissues cost $19.49 for a pack of eight at Costco - $2.43 each - whereas at Woolworths the same singular box cost $3.

Kleenex Toilet Paper was selling for $29.50 for 60 rolls at Costco (49c per roll) compared to $13.50 for 24 rolls (56c per roll).

The 'craziest' price difference Louise spotted was the cost of Infuzions Veggie Straws, which were $1.60 each at Costco compared to $4.78 at Woolworths.

On this tip Louise also picked up 34 cans of Coke for $32.99, which would've cost her $47.20 elsewhere.

Leggo's Bolognese Sauce was priced at $14.99 for packs of six 500g bottles ($2.50 each) but at Woolworths customers pay $4.30 each.

Louise stocked up on Libra Ulrathin Regular Pads priced at $20.99 for 120 - or 17c per pad. But at Woolworths the same product was priced at $6.40 per ten pack - or 64c per pad.

'That is a literal joke,' she said.

It's also important to note a $60 annual membership is required to shop at Costco.

Lastly she picked up a bottle of Chandon wine for $21.99 which would've cost her 35 at Woolworths, along with Pepperjack Shiraz for $14.50 instead of $25.

Mince meat was also $10 per kilo at Costco compared to $11 per kilo elsewhere.
