"Non-communicable diseases are now the primary challenge facing low and middle-income communities." At #WEF25, our CEO Vas Narasimhan joined international health leaders to discuss how strengthening health systems and expanding access to innovation can transform healthcare globally. A key focus was addressing the growing NCD burden in low and middle-income countries – a priority for Novartis. Vas highlighted that through collaboration with civil society, governments, and local providers, we can harness emerging technologies and innovative treatments to improve early detection and health outcomes in underserved communities. Drawing parallels to the global alliance for vaccines, Vas called for a "global fund for NCDs" to accelerate healthcare innovation at scale.
