BRILLIANT! The Business of Fashion has published an insightful article regarding the health of the sneaker resale market - backed up by Neustreet data! We see the significant percentage of major brands and silhouettes that were selling above MSRP have declined in price throughout 2023. Certain hyped releases continue to command massive resale premiums, but many metrics indicate that sneaker resale profitability at a macro level has ultimately decreased. However, when we here at Neustreet talk to entrepreneurs and different sneaker businesses across the industry, we have a positive outlook for the overall growth of the sneaker market, the number of resellers, and in particular are excited by the enhanced competition from younger sneaker brands. These are the criteria I used: - Only brands that offer at least the running category - Annual revenue equal to or over 1 billion USD (all in) - Only sneakers, no slides, no booties - Only full price, no discounts - No collabs, purely the brand's products - Prices from US brands' e-commerce Interesting facts about online search in the last 5 years: * New Balance grew 198% * Hoka volume search grew by 401% * Reebok became less relevant with -21% * File saw -47% less people searching for their brand on Google So back to the matrix on the picture, What do you think?
