This is not a compressed work week, where people work longer days to get more days off. The 4-day work week, as proposed, is one where you work only 32 hours a week but get paid for 40 hours. Last week I had two great chats with Captains on large yachts discussing recruitment, crew retention, salaries, leave, benefits, bonuses etc. Thoroughly enjoyable conversations which hopefully they benefitted from. Following on from last week's post, it is always far cheaper to retain a good crew member than to hire another one. Contrary to popular belief as a recruiter, I don't want to see clients with high turnover.
