Horror as elderly woman, 74, is killed after being pushed in front of San Francisco BART train by homeless man
A 74-year-old San Francisco woman has died after she was pushed in front of a BART train by a homeless man at a subway station.
Corazon Dandan, a San Mateo County resident, was shoved in front of a moving Millbrae-bound train at Powell Street station at around 11.06pm yesterday.
BART police officers have identified and taken Trevor Belmont, 49, a homeless man also known as Hoak Taing into custody for the incident.
The push caused the victim to hit her head on the train and fall on the platform, officials said.

She was transported to the San Francisco General Hospital, where her head injuries proved fatal.
Belmont has been accused of Murder and Inflicting Injury On Elder Or Dependent Adult Likely To Cause Great Bodily Injury, according to his arrest report.
In an official statement, cops described the perpetrator as a 'transient' - a more formal word for homeless.
According to the San Francisco Standard, a woman on the police scanner audio can be heard saying that Dandan 'was pushed into a train and is now laid out on the platform. We have medical on the way'.
'We're going to need more units for this,' a male voice reportedly also said in response.

Belmont has been booked at the San Francisco County Jail today where he is being held without bond.
Officers also confirmed that the incident was an active investigation and said: 'BART PD is interviewing witnesses and processing evidence.
'The investigation includes the review of surveillance video. Investigators are still working to determine a motive for this incident.'
Authorities confirmed that Dandan's death is the first homicide of the year on the BART system.
