Drive north from Hanoi to the world heritage site of Halong Bay. Here you will board the luxurious Au Co for a 2-night cruise aboard one of the finest ships on the bay. Your 2-night itinerary allows you to reach more remote areas of Halong Bay such as Ho Ba Ham lagoon and Cat Ba Island. (B, L, D)

Fly to Hue, the 19th-century Nguyen capital. Afternoon visit to the royal tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. A dinner reservation will be made at the Tha Om Garden House, a wonderfully atmospheric place to dine set in a beautiful garden with a lotus pond in the middle. Stay 2 nights at Azerai La Residence. Take an escorted ride through the streets of Hué for a view of the city from street level, visiting the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City enclosure inside. Drive to Danang and fly to Ho Chi Minh City.
