Abercrombie & Kent Limited, trading as “Cox & Kings”

Modern slavery statement for the financial year ended 31 December 2022

Cox & Kings is proud of the steps we have taken to combat slavery and human trafficking and are committed to constantly improving our practices to combat each of these issues. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are devoted to acting objectively and with decency in all of our business dealings.

Our business and structure

Cox & Kings has been helping travellers explore and discover for over 260 years. As part of the Abercrombie & Kent Group we have more than 55 offices in over 30 countries and a global family of 2,500 travel specialists. Unlike most luxury travel operators, who rely on third-party companies abroad, we operate the world’s largest network of luxury Destination Management Companies (DMCs), ensuring a seamless holiday experience with unparalleled level of service and safety throughout your holiday.

Our supply chain

Due to our global reach, we contract with suppliers worldwide. These suppliers include accommodation providers, cruise ships, transport companies, excursion providers and group operators selling holidays.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We believe that tourism should be a force for good. We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

Philanthropy has been an integral part of the Abercrombie & Kent Group since our founding, and today, Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP) partners with more than 40 local grassroots projects that positively impact lives and livelihoods in the communities where our guests travel.

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have in place systems to:

  • Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains;
  • Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring;
  • Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains;
  • Provide employees with training to assist them in understanding the risks of slavery and human trafficking.

Supplier adherence to our values

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking and work to ensure that all those in our supply chain comply with the values we have in place. We have worked together with our third-party suppliers to identify and establish an audit process which is undertaken with suppliers to check what actions they are taking to ensure they meet our standards on anti-slavery and human trafficking.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff. We also audit whether our business partners provide training to their staff, suppliers and providers.

Abercrombie & Kent has a company policy on anti-slavery which applies globally to all entities within the Abercrombie & Kent Group of companies and all persons working for Cox & Kings or on our behalf, be that in any capacity. This internal policy sets out our stance on modern slavery and explains how our employees can identify instances of this, where they can go for help and what processes and procedures Cox & Kings have in place to address the risk of modern slavery. We also provide training specifically on this internal policy to our staff regularly and as necessary to those who deal with third parties in our supply chain.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Cox & Kings’ slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2022.

By order of the board.
