This is a list of Michelin-starred restaurants in Taiwan since 2018. The 2018 edition was the inaugural edition of the Michelin Guide to Taipei to be published. [1] Taipei was the eighth Asian city/region to have a dedicated Red Guide, after Tokyo, Hong Kong & Macau, Osaka & Kyoto, Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, and Bangkok. [2] [3] Michelin began reviewing restaurants in Taichung in 2020.

Taiwanese cuisine is a popular style of food with several variations, including Chinese and that of Taiwanese indigenous peoples, with the earliest cuisines known of being the indigenous ones. With over a hundred years of historical development, mainstream Taiwanese cuisine has been influenced by Hakka cuisine, the cuisines of the waishengren, Japanese cuisine, and American cuisine, with southern Fujian cuisine having had the most profound impact.
Taichung, officially Taichung City, is a special municipality located in central Taiwan. Taichung has approximately 2.85 million residents and is the second largest city of Taiwan, as well as the most populous city in Central Taiwan. It serves as the core of the Taichung–Changhua metropolitan area, the second largest metropolitan area in Taiwan.
The Michelin Guides are a series of guide books that have been published by the French tyre company Michelin since 1900. The Guide awards up to three Michelin stars for excellence to a select few restaurants. The acquisition or loss of a star or stars can have dramatic effects on the success of a restaurant. Michelin also publishes the Green Guides, a series of general guides to cities, regions, and countries.
Islam is a minor religion in Taiwan and it represents about 0.3% of the population. There are around 60,000 Muslims in Taiwan, in which about 90% belong to the Hui ethnic group. There are also more than 250,000 foreign Muslims working in Taiwan from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as other nationalities from more than 30 countries. As of 2018, there are eleven mosques in Taiwan, with the most notable being the Taipei Grand Mosque, the oldest and largest one.

STARLUX Airlines is a Taiwanese international airline company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and operated its first flight from Taipei to Macau on 23 January 2020.
Lin Chia-lung is a Taiwanese politician and former academic who is the Secretary General to the President of Taiwan, serving since 31 January 2023. A member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), he served as mayor of Taichung City from 2014 to 2018.
Snake Alley, also known as Huaxi Street Night Market or Huaxi Street Tourist Night Market is a market in Wanhua District, Taipei, Taiwan. The market is located near the Bangka Lungshan Temple as well as other night markets located on Guangzhou Street, Wuzhou Street and Xichang Street.
Duangporn "Bo" Songvisava is a Thai chef and restaurateur. She and her husband, chef Dylan Jones, own and operated Bo.lan, a restaurant in Bangkok's Thong Lo neighborhood. In 2018 Songvisava was profiled on the fifth season of the documentary series Chef's Table.
Peter Cuong Franklin is a Vietnamese American chef and founder of Anan Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Chôm Chôm in Hong Kong, specializing in "Cuisine Mới". Born in Da Lat, Vietnam, Franklin's mother Nguyễn Thị Như Thừa operated a noodle shop. Franklin fled Ho Chi Minh City as a child refugee on April 29, 1975 during the Fall of Saigon. He was later adopted by an American family, attending Fairfield College Preparatory School and Yale University.
