The first time through, I watched this exceptional show from a conventional, literal viewpoint. Had I been eating, I would have wanted to puke.

However, after having read Galbraith’s thesis on moe, I rewatched the show. Galbraith enabled me to interpret it metaphorically, and it made perfect sense.

Wasurenagumo figuratively depicts a new otaku solution to the problem of female companionship. The high school girl has been supplanted by a creature of boundless internal fantasy.

The creators might also be implying that the loli-spider waifu will undermine society more effectively than the original onibaba-spider demon.

Good solid story in a 24 minute anime, this has a better plot then many multi episode series that I've seen.

ehh.. I thought it was gonna be heartwarming. My eyes are twitching as I write this. But don't get me wrong this is a good show, it was interesting and twisted err cute.

Interesting story and concept plus a very unexpected conclusion. It was a good watch with good art and animation. Anyone should give this a try.
