NovaBACKUP offers the following local and cloud backup and recovery software solutions for businesses:

  • NovaBACKUP PC Agent with 1,000 GB of Cloud Storage for PCs
  • NovaBACKUP Server Agent starts with 250 GB of Cloud Storage for servers, applications, and virtual machines


NovaBACKUP provides fast recovery of lost data to minimize downtime and reduce disruption during working hours by keeping backups small and fast. NovaBACKUP's backup solutions are HIPAA compliant, allowing medical and dental practices to keep healthcare data systems containing patients’ protected health information safe.


For MSPs, NovaBACKUP offers a scalable backup and recovery solution that allows service providers to earn recurring revenue offering clients backup as a service. The platform supports local and cloud backup for all current Windows systems and virtual machines, supporting deployment from a few to thousands of agents. With NovaBACKUP Managed Backup, service providers can manage and monitor clients' local and offsite backups of files, folders, applications, entire systems, and virtual machines using a SaaS model.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use NovaBACKUP to backup and protect all business data on our physical and virtual machines. Our data is critical to our business, and NovaBACKUP gives us the confidence we can recover from a hardware failure. We can also use NovaBackup to restore a physical server to a Virtual Machine, with the P2V function. Very useful in migrating to VMware or building a test lab.

Likelihood to Recommend
Provide data protection for small to media size clients. Sends comprehensive email reports upon job completion. Physical to Virtual Migrations. Backing up physical and virtual machines. Alerting on backup job success or failure. Support is could be a little better, but it is adequate. The application is frequently updated and supports the latest operating systems from Microsoft and VMware.

Alternatives Considered
  • Veeam Backup & Replication
Not as polished as Veeam, but a lot cheaper when backing up data from over 10 servers. Otherwise, if you are backing up just one server, and don't need much in the way of support, the Veeam Community edition is a very cost-effective backup solution. When comparing the support and cost of Novabackup for a small to mid-size business, it is a very reliable solution.
