M4 MacBook Pros spotted in Russian unboxing videos were apparently legit.

That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who writes today that he is “certain these machines are the real deal.” The machines from last week’s leaks seem to be base model M4 MacBook Pros with 16GB of memory and 10-core CPUs and GPUs, he adds.

Apple is expected to announce the laptops along with a smaller Mac Mini, a refreshed iPad Mini, and more soon.

While campaigning for the US Senate in 2021, Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance filmed a Facebook Live using his smartphone’s selfie camera, which mirrored the image, and therefore his campaign signs.

That can be fixed, but Vance’s idea — rotating the phone — is not it. (I recommend waiting a moment to turn on the volume, unless you’re a fan of TikTok’s text-to-speech voices.)

Anthropic’s CEO has many, many, many thoughts about AGI.

In a long blog post, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei considers the upside of artificial general intelligence (AGI, or as he prefers to call it, “powerful AI”). He pushed back on the idea that he’s a “pessimist” or “doomer” by outlining some grandiose claims for the future of AI:

I think that most people are underestimating just how radical the upside of AI could be, just as I think most people are underestimating how bad the risks could be.

I’d like to point out that the company is reportedly in talks to raise money at a $40 billion valuation.

“Junk Store has been approved for sale on the Steam Store!” its developers write — before pointing out Valve hasn’t technically approved the Epic Games Store and GOG game installer tool quite yet.

But why shouldn’t they? You can already add Junk Store to a Steam Deck with the Decky Loader sideloading system. I asked Valve; we’ll see!
