     William Hay, 17th Earl of Erroll was born on 12 March 1772.¹ He was the son of James Hay, 15th Earl of Erroll and Isabella Carr.¹ He married, firstly, Jane Bell, daughter of Matthew Bell and Dulcibella Eden, on 9 January 1792.¹ He married, secondly, Alicia Eliot, daughter of Samuel Eliot, on 3 August 1796.¹ He married, thirdly, Hon. Harriet Somerville, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hon. Hugh Somerville and Mary Digby, on 14 October 1816.² He died on 26 January 1819 at age 46.²
     He was given the name of William Hay at birth.² On 28 March 1795 his name was legally changed to William Carr by Royal Licence.¹ He forfeited his maternal grandfather's bequest of Etal on succeeding to the Earldom.¹ He succeeded as the 17th Earl of Erroll [S., 1452] on 14 July 1798.¹ He succeeded as the 18th Lord Hay [S., 1430] on 14 July 1798.¹ He held the office of Lord High Commissioner [Scotland].¹ He held the office of Knight Marischal [Scotland] in 1805.¹ He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] in 1806.¹

     Sir Edward Ernest Pearson married Susannah Grace Croft, daughter of Richard Benyon Croft and Anne Elizabeth Page, on 8 September 1904.² He died on 19 November 1925.²

     David Wemyss of that Ilk was born on 11 February 1920.¹ He was the son of Michael John Erskine Wemyss of that Ilk and Lady Victoria Alexandrina Violet Cavendish-Bentinck.^1,2 He married Lady Jean Christian Bruce, daughter of Edward James Bruce, 14th Earl of Kincardine and Hon. Katherine Elizabeth Cochrane, on 21 July 1945.¹ He died on 26 January 2005 at age 84 at Invermay, Forteviot, Perthshire, Scotland.³

     Andrew Michael John Wemyss was born on 3 October 1925.¹ He is the son of Michael John Erskine Wemyss of that Ilk and Lady Victoria Alexandrina Violet Cavendish-Bentinck.¹ He married Janet Althea Scott, daughter of Major John Swire Scott and Alethea Abel Smith, on 8 February 1967.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He lived in 2003 at Torrie House, Newmills, Dunfermline, Fife, England.¹

     Mary Millicent Erskine-Wemyss was born on 15 May 1885.¹ She was the daughter of Randolph Gordon Erskine-Wemyss of Wemyss and Lady Lillian Mary Paulet.¹ She married Ernest Caswell Long on 30 April 1917.¹
     Her married name became Long.

     Ernest Caswell Long married, thirdly, Paula Alexandra Getrude Gellibrand.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Millicent Erskine-Wemyss, daughter of Randolph Gordon Erskine-Wemyss of Wemyss and Lady Lillian Mary Paulet, on 30 April 1917.² He married, secondly, Genesta Mary Heath, daughter of Cuthbert Eden Heath and Sarah Caroline Gore Gambier, in 1924.³
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards.² Ernest Caswell Long also went by the nick-name of Boy.¹

     William Henry Wellesley, 2nd Earl Cowley was born on 25 August 1834 at Stuttgart, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ He was the son of Henry Richard Charles Wellesley, 1st Earl Cowley and Hon. Olivia Cecilia FitzGerald-de Ros.¹ He married Emily Gwendoline Williams, daughter of Lt.-Col.      Admiral Rosslyn Erskine Erskine-Wemyss, 1st and last Baron Wester Wemyss was born on 12 April 1864.¹ He was the son of James Hay Erskine-Wemyss and Augusta Millicent Anne Mary Kennedy-Erskine.¹ He married Victoria Morier, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Burnett David Morier and Alice Peel, on 21 December 1903.² He died on 24 May 1933 at age 69.¹

Sir Robert Burnett David Morier and Alice Peel.^1,2 She married Admiral Rosslyn Erskine Erskine-Wemyss, 1st and last Baron Wester Wemyss, son of James Hay Erskine-Wemyss and Augusta Millicent Anne Mary Kennedy-Erskine, on 21 December 1903.³ She died on 22 April 1945.¹
     Her married name became Erskine-Wemyss. After her marriage, Victoria Morier was styled as Baroness Wester Wemyss on 18 November 1919. She wrote the book The life and letters of Lord Wester Wemyss, G.C.B., C.M.G., M V.O., admiral of the fleet, published 1935 (ASIN: B00085O8JQ.)¹
