REPROGRAMMING! This is what I’m paying attention to with respect to Replicator. It is the process that signifies DOD can say, “yeah, so we are going to acquire X instead of Y,” and if it becomes more of the norm than the exception, it has the potential to disrupt the standard lobbying practices the Defense Industrial Base uses to get loads of funding. I think Replicator will be heralded as a huge success—it’s too big and strategically important to fail, not just for the capabilities, but for the acquisition innovations. A reminder that our #waymo 2024 Challenges are ongoing, and submissions will close on May 23! I want to share a couple of important updates: 1) We now allow the fine-tuning publicly available open source models. We’ve seen lots of interest in using open-source LLM/VLMs for submissions, and this change will help unlock new opportunities for the participants. As a reminder the Challenges close on May 23. 2) We also clarified the closed loop requirements for our Sim Agents challenge due to some past misunderstandings. Please double check and make sure you are compliant. See the link below for all the relevant Challenges info, and if you are not competing, consider doing so, there is still time!
