Will Mellor has revealed how powerful he found filming his new documentary about a woman, named Lauren Taylor, who was raped aged 16 by a police officer.
In his new series, Cops Gone Bad, the actor and presenter, 48, looks at the harrowing case of former police officer Adam Provan, who raped the young girl after lying to her father about his age so he could take her out.
Detailing the impact it had on him, Will told the Mirror: 'That episode landed harder because I could see my own 16-year-old daughter in that girl. When Lauren's telling her story, she's found the courage to come forward and speak.
'But what really hit me is her dad had said Provan was safe for her to go out with. When she said, "I didn't say anything to my dad because I didn't want him to blame himself", that cut me in half and choked me up. I went home and hugged my daughter that night.
Will, who is father to Renee and Jayden 20, with his wife Michelle Mcsween-Mellor, said: 'All you want to do as a parent is protect your kids'.
Revealing he would 'blame himself' if his daughter came to any harm, Will admitted that during the episode he says 'I would want to kill him', explaining it as a 'visceral but human reaction'.

Provan, who was aged 31 when the 2010 attack took place, told her dad he was a much younger 22 in order to be able to take Lauren to the cinema.
However, in a twisted turn of events, Provan drove them both to a country park where he raped her while she stood frozen to the spot.
The documentary reveals how Provan absent-mindedly disposed of his used condom and pulled up his clothes before leading Lauren back out of the woods.
Lauren has waived her right to anonymity to appear in the upcoming Crime+ Investigation documentary hosted by Will.
Proven then drove them to a McDonald's, where he bought milkshakes and told her to lie to her parents about what they had been doing.
He even checked film times and plots so that she would be able to successfully deceive them about where she had been.
Afterwards, he drove her to a children's playground and raped her again - forcing her to perform a sex act on him.
Lauren stayed silent about the ordeal for six years out of fear her father would blame himself for letting her go.

Will's documentary aims to shine a light on officers who are able to prey on victims without getting caught. Will insisted it's not about 'cop bashing'.
After the public trust in the police force eroded following the recent case of Wayne Couzens raping and murdering Sarah Everard, Will said that they need to be more transparent about the vetting process in place when hiring officers.
Cops Gone Bad launches on February 17 on Crime+.
