Taylor Swift packs her lyrics on love, friendship, and self-empowerment with special meaning, and it appears she does the same with her outfits.

The billionaire pop princess, 35, stole the show with her red carpet appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards earlier this week after she left fans wondering whether her outfit referenced her partner Travis Kelce, who did not attend.

Her ruched red draped dress formed a slit over her left thigh, drawing attention to a glittering Lorraine Schwartz 'T' charm on a chain with tear drop–shaped crimson jewels.

Fans quickly speculated whether the T could stand for Travis, while ecstatic Swifties used her song lyrics as 'proof' that it referred to her footballer beau.

Given that it's not the first time the Blank Space singer has paid homage to her Kansas City Chiefs tight-end boyfriend through her choice of attire, the inference isn't outlandish.

Taylor has repeatedly left clues about the state of her love life through fashion; for instance, last year, she donned a hat referencing Kelce's podcast at Coachella and left multiple Easter Eggs about her lover in her Eras Tour wardrobe.

Travis isn't the only one to receive the romantic treatment either, with the singer also sharing hints at her status with others, including Joe Alwyn  and Matty Healey, through her clothes.

Here, Femail reveals the romantic clues and messages Taylor has hidden in her ensembles.

SIGNALS NEW FLING WITH 1975 TEE

Fans realised love was in the air for Taylor in 2014 after she wore a 1975 band t-shirt, seemingly signalling the start a very public courtship with frontman Matty Healey.

The Begin Again singer attended a concert with BFF Selena Gomez the week prior before she was spotted wearing the band's t-shirt.

Then, during an interview with the Australian radio show Shazam Top 20 that week, Matty revealed the potential couple had exchanged phone numbers, adding: 'I wouldn't say no.'

Matty, then-25, who wore a Taylor Swift 1989 shirt on stage earlier in the same month, told how he and the Grammy award winner had met in October 2014.

'We exchanged numbers,' he told host Angus O'Loughlin. 'Let's see what happens, she's a sensation.'

When the DJ referred to the pair as 'a hot new celebrity couple', the singer joked, 'You're calling that, are you? Let's just see what happens.'

After the band's LA concert, Taylor posted an Instagram video of her and Selena smiling and singing along.

She captioned the post with a flirtatious line from the 1975's hit The City. It read: 'Yeah you wanna find love? Then you know where the city is.'

The musicians shocked the world in April 2023 when they revealed their romance.

Fans saw Matty publicly supporting the singer on her The Eras Tour, shooting the star loving glances as he attended her Nashville concerts.

They were also seen in NYC numerous times, leaving a recording studio, and heading for dinner with her friends, Margaret Qualley, Phoebe Bridgers, and Zoe Kravitz.

Taylor and Matty's romance was fleeting, with the pair splitting up soon after their romance commenced.

Swift seemingly made her Call It What You Want lyrics come true in 2018 when she wore her then-boyfriend's initials on a necklace.

Swift hadn't officially confirmed her relationship with The Sense of an Ending actor Joe Alwyn but had given him a shout-out in her Spotify-exclusive video for Delicate.

The then-28-year-old pop star pointed to her $75 (£59) Tiffany & Co. 'Letter "J" Disc' charm while singing: 'My reputation's never been worse, so you must like me for me.'

The Grammy winner previously referred to wearing 'his initial on a chain round my neck' in her track, Call It What You Want.

Taylor and London-based Joe enjoyed a six-year relationship before calling it quits in April 2023, with sources revealing their relationship struggled to overcome their career differences.

However, in 2023, fans descended into a frenzy once again as they debated whether she had reprised a necklace gifted to her by Joe Alwyn, despite reports they had split.

Following the claims, Taylor left the popular Italian restaurant Via Carota in New York City after enjoying a meal with her friend and regular producer Jack Antonoff.

As ever fans were quick to analyse her stylish look for the outing, with one accessory drawing the most attention - her necklace.

Taking to Twitter, some Swifties claimed that she was wearing her 'iconic J necklace' from her relationship with Joe, hinting perhaps their romance wasn't dead after all.

However, some questioned whether she was wearing the delicate Tiffany piece, with others claiming it was a different necklace.

SUPPORTS BOYFRIEND'S PODCAST WITH CAP

Taylor gave a shoutout to her new favourite podcast during Coachella last year as she donned a New Heights cap alongside her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The couple went to the music festival in California and were spotted dancing to Bleachers - her producer Jack Antonoff's band - and Ice Spice, a close friend of Swift's who was at the Super Bowl last February to cheer Kelce to victory.

Later in the night, they were seen again with Swift dressed in New Heights merch, the podcast of her Super Bowl-winning boyfriend.

The New Heights hat was available to purchase from the podcast's website for $28 (£22).

Kelce hosted a live version of the podcast alongside his brother Jason days earlier in Cincinnati, with the duo receiving their diplomas from their university at the end of the show.

The Kelces took their successful podcast in front of a live audience in their alma mater after Travis won his third Super Bowl title with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cincinnati Bengals stars Joe Burrow and Orlando Brown Jr. appeared as special guests on the live show.

New Heights has features in Spotify's sports podcast charts, behind Mind the Game with LeBron James and JJ Redick. It also sat high on Apple Podcast at the time, behind Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take.

But during the NFL season, it received a surge in popularity after Travis and Taylor went official.

ERAS TOUR EASTER EGGS

The singer appeared to show her closeness to Travis once again during the Eras Tour in Florida last October.

The 35-year-old appeared to tribute Travis via her Jacquie Aiche 'T' Mini Hoop - the T being for Travis, or potentially for her name, Taylor.

Fans quickly went wild and assumed the choice showed her seriousness about her partner.

It wasn't the first time the billionaire from Pennsylvania donned 'T' jewellery, and in the past, she has donned a TNT bracelet and an 87 ring - 87 being Kelce's football jersey number.

Taylor Swift is reportedly ready for the 'next chapter' of her life with Travis Kelce amid rumours that the pair are engaged.

The Chiefs tight end and the pop star, who recently wrapped up her mammoth Eras Tour after 21 months, have dated since the summer of 2023.

According to a source who spoke to Life & Style, Swift is eager to begin the next phase of their relationship.

'After 21 months on the road and a year-and-a-half with Travis, Taylor is ready for this next chapter to begin with the love of her life,' the source said.

The insider added that the couple have 'got a lot to look forward to, and they couldn't be more excited about it.'

HIDDEN MESSAGE AT THE GRAMMY AWARDS

Taylor is known for sharing hidden messages in her outfits, often giving fans a hidden clue about upcoming album releases.

At last year's Grammys event, Taylor stunned in a monochrome outfit inspired by The Tortured Poets Department - minutes before announcing the new album release in her award acceptance speech.

And this year appeared no different, as fans were quick to spot a subtle detail hidden amongst her red number.

Nestled beneath her red Vivienne Westwood dress was a clue to  the state of her relationship.

A chain draped over her left thigh featured a jewelled red 'T,' possibly representing her 35-year-old boyfriend, who previously revealed that he wouldn't be able to attend Sunday's ceremony.

The eye-catching ensemble also seemed to pay tribute to the NFL tight end's team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as it was done up in a similar shade to the team's red colour scheme.

Though the T could potentially stand for either Taylor or Travis, ecstatic Swifties used her song lyrics as 'proof' it refers to her football-playing boyfriend.

In 'Guilty as Sin?', a track from The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor sings 'what if he's written "mine" on my upper thigh' - seeming to signal a shoutout to Travis.

Travis revealed that he was unable to attend the Grammys because he had practice with the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of their Super Bowl showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles; seen together on January 26 in Kansas City, Missouri

The shade of her dress also led to much discussion, with many making comparisons to the gown she wore at the 2009 VMAs when Kanye West took to the stage in an outburst, declaring Beyoncé should have won instead.

As well as Taylor hitting back at West, others thought the red shade could represent a 'curtain closing' on her The Tortured Poets Department era, perhaps signalling at a new release.

One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter: 'WHAT IF she wearing red because it’s the end of the ttpd era (mimicking a curtain closing at the end of a play).'

While Taylor is yet to reveal the meaning behind her outfit choice, the decision to don the jewelled 'T' made her fanbase erupt with excitement.
