Kelly Osbourne speaks out about 'corrupt' rehab centers in Matthew Perry documentary

Kelly Osbourne has opened up about her shocking experiences in rehab facilities.

The 39-year-old media personality — whose boyfriend Sid Wilson was burned during an explosion on their shared farm — appears in the new documentary TMZ Investigates Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring.

Osbourne — who is a recovering addict — shared that some rehabilitation centers exploit their patients for financial gain.

She admitted, '[The] first rehab I went to was like, university on how to be a better drug addict.'

The upcoming documentary explores Perry's death at age 54 from a ketamine overdose last October.

Osbourne said in the new sit-down conversation, 'I learned so many tricks, so many things that I never even thought of from my fellow addicts that were in [rehab].'

The star, who in the past has admitted to using heroin at age 13, expounded, 'I'd also seen people threaten to leave [treatment] until they were given what they wanted.

'Whether it be Ambien for sleep or Valium for nerves, they would somehow end up getting it.'

The host clarified, 'So the rehab facility is faced with: "either give me the drugs or I'm going to leave and you're going to lose your $100,000."'

The former Fashion Police host confirmed, 'Mmhmm, and they end up giving them whatever it is they've asked for.'

In the short clip ahead of the documentary premiere, Kelly also shared a term called 'body brokers.'

She explained, 'They'll sit outside of AA meetings looking for weak and vulnerable people that they encourage to go and relapse so they can then pick you up again.'

When pressed by the host that it's 'hard to believe,' the mother-of-one insisted, 'I swear on everything that it's true. And it's heartbreaking.'

In mid August multiple drug dealers were arrested and charged over the death of beloved Friends star Matthew.

Among them were 'Ketamine Queen' Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia.

At the time, United States Attorney Martin Estrada said of Sangha and Plasencia: 'These defendants cared more about profiting off of Mr. Perry than caring for his well-being.

'Drug dealers selling dangerous substances are gambling with other people's lives over greed.'

In June 2021 Kelly appeared on Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk with Jada and Willow Smith to talk about her drug addiction, which began when she was a teenager.

She revealed at one point she was using heroin to save money as the drug was less expensive than prescription pills like Vicodin and Percocet.

Earlier this year, the former MTV star said she is hopeful that her past drug use will keep her from getting cancer.

On an episode of her family's The Osbournes podcast, she said, 'I’m hoping that I’ve embalmed myself so I don’t ever get cancer.'

She added lightheartedly: 'I’m pickled from all the drugs and alcohol, for sure.'
