Days after 62-year-old Billy's vitriolic criticism of his popstar daughter, 31, was made public, insiders have alleged that the recording was the final straw for Miley, whose relationship with her father was already on rocky terms as a result of his marriage to estranged wife Firerose, 37.
Sources tell DailyMail.com that Billy - who was also caught on audio recording unleashing an expletive-filled rant against Firerose - is now 'dead to Miley' who has not spoken to her father since her mom Tish, 57, filed for divorce from him in 2022 after 28 years of marriage.
'There is no excuse, ever, for a father to call his daughter a skank. Any inkling of respect that Miley had for her father is gone. He is dead to her,' the insider said.
In the recording, which was heard by DailyMail.com, Billy bizarrely speaks about himself in the third person before turning his attention to his daughter, Miley, referring to her only as 'that devil' and uttering the shocking statement: 'Everyone knows that devil's a skank.'

Shocking audio recordings obtained by DailyMail.com feature Billy Ray unleashing a vile rant against now-estranged wife Firerose (seen in February), before calling his daughter a 'devil'
He then goes on to refer to ex-wife Tish as a 'liar…a w***e…and a cheat'.
'Honestly, Miley is not surprised that these words came out of his mouth,' the insider went on, which a second source adding, 'Miley is mad, sad and also not giving a s**t, all the emotions are there.
'Miley is over caring about what Billy Ray has to say about her, her mom or her siblings. Miley is as independent of a woman as possible, and she refuses to let her dad, or any man, break her heart.'
The first insider alleged that Billy has tried to excuse his outburst, insisting that his words were 'taken out of context', but that Miley is 'refusing to entertain' any apology from her father.
'He is trying to say that what he said about Miley, calling her a skank, was taken out of context,' they claimed.
'But Miley is not even entertaining any of this. She won't be accepting any apologies.'
The source said that Miley was all the more hurt by the fact that her father was also revealed to have lashed out at her mother Tish, whom Billy never refers to by name, but instead calls 's**t'.

He ended the statement by writing: 'See you in court.'
His social media post did not include anything about his beratement of Tish and Miley, which was recorded at a completely separate time than his argument with Firerose.
The source added, 'Miley is standing with Tish on this. His words about Firerose pale in comparison to how he used to treat Tish while Miley and her siblings were around. The way that he treated Tish was so awful.'

Miley famously left her father out of her acceptance speech — only mentioning mom Tish, sister Brandi and her team — as she won her first-ever Grammy Award earlier this year.
More recently, Miley spoke candidly about her relationship with Billy Ray during a sit-down interview with David Letterman.
She told the host of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction that she 'inherited narcissism' from Billy Ray while lauding Tish as her 'hero.'

They became friends but nothing happened romantically until the country singer reached out to her a decade later and asked her to duet with him on a version of Tanya Tucker's 'Delta Dawn.'
He was still married to Tish at the time but told Firerose they were 'soulmates' and promised her a romance for the ages.
The pair were married in October 2023 but today all the grand talk of old rings hollow.
Just seven months into the marriage in May, Billy Ray filed for divorce, marking the beginning of an increasingly bitter legal battle, according to filings.
Firerose claims Billy Ray kicked her out of the marital home on May 23, 2024 – one day before she was due to undergo a preventative double mastectomy having been diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene, a gene placing her at high risk of developing certain forms of cancer, in 2020. She has since postponed her surgery 'indefinitely.'
Earlier this month she filed a motion to retrieve property, claiming her estranged husband has refused to let her return to the home to remove her belongings.
Documents obtained by DailyMail.com show Firerose had agreed to move out after his divorce filing and to not return without his permission.
