American Pickers host Mike Wolfe has heaped praise on his dedicated crew while revealing they have signed a contract to film a brand new season of the beloved History Channel show.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 60-year-old star took a moment to reflect on how working with his team had been 'one of the greatest experiences' of his life.

Mike also thanked the millions of fans around the world who had supported American Pickers since it debuted on the network 14 years ago, adding that he never thought it would resonate with so many.

Sharing a picture of his righthand men, Mike wrote: 'I know everyone says they have the best crew, but in this business how many can say they have worked side by side with most for over a decade.

'Some of the people in this shot have been with me going on 16 years now and a lot for over 10 years.

The TV star heaped praise on his hard-working crew as he reflected on the show's success 

'Living and working side by side with them has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.

'We have watched each other grow and evolve in so many beautiful ways.'

He continued: 'All this reflection comes from me signing another contract today to do another season.

'After pitching this project for 5 years I never could imagine in my wildest dreams how it would resonate with so many millions of people across the globe.

'It shows me that history matters and the stories we uncover connect us all.

'At a time when we all seem so divided we can still escape into the past for these little moments we create to find peace and common ground.'

Mike concluded his post by voicing his appreciation for all the fans who have tuned into watch American Pickers over the years.

'Thank you for believing in this project,' he wrote. 'It would not be possible without all of your support.'

Mike's post prompted a huge response from fans, who congratulated him and his crew and expressed their excitement for a new season.

His brother, Robert, who stars alongside Mike on American Pickers, was among those to comment.

He said: 'Your passion has resonated with so many across the world your vision lives in everyone of us on this crew. Love you, brother.'

Another wrote: 'Awesome can't wait to see the next season and I often watch the previous ones to make sure I didn't miss anything.

'I love history and the past and miss those days every day, thank you for keeping it alive and saving what we can.'

American Pickers has 24 seasons under its belt after first launching on the History Channel in 2010

American Pickers first launched on the History Channel in 2010 and has released an impressive 24 seasons to date.

The show follows Mike and his team as they scour the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns.

They also meet bucketloads of quirky characters along the way and hear their amazing stories.
