Rebel Wilson reveals the shocking reason she did not have her first relationship until she was 35
Rebel Wilson has opened up about the shocking reason she did not have her first romantic relationship until she was almost 40 years old.
The Bridesmaids star, 44, made the surprising confession on an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, admitting she once prioritised her career over love.
'I'm a pretty late bloomer when it comes to love. My first real relationship was at 35. In my 20s I never dated anybody, not one single person,' she told host Alex Cooper.
'I literally went on not one date. It was only when I became a Hollywood actress I started softening.'
The Sydney-born star explained that at the time she believed being in a relationship would distract her from making it in the industry, so she pushed love aside.
'To make it in the entertainment industry is really hard, especially when you're a no one from Australia. I thought if I was in a relationship it wouldn't help my career.'
Rebel added that her single-minded focus actually helped her break into showbusiness, and by the time she began dating in 2015 she was an established actress.
However, Rebel admitted she would have done things differently in hindsight.

'It kind of worked but I sacrificed. I didn't have any social or love life.'
Fortunately, Rebel eventually found love with American fashion designer Ramona Agruma, 40, and the pair got engaged last year after going Instagram Official in 2022.
In May, Rebel shed light on her sweet wedding plans to Agruma and recalled her dating challenge prior to meeting her partner.

Speaking to Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on the ITV magazine show, she revealed she is planning to wed Ramona, with whom she shares daughter Royce Lillian, 20 months, next year and they will likely have a beach wedding.
Rebel came out as queer in June 2022 by posting on Instagram: 'I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess' - something alluded to in the chat.
The star, who revealed she lost her virginity at 35, recalled how she challenged herself to date 50 men, before she fell in love with a woman.
Speaking about her wedding, she said: 'It'll probably be next year. I feel like it's gonna be a beach wedding but I just don't know what beach!'
