Hugh Jackman reveals what he REALLY thinks of State of Origin following the NSW Blues' sensational victory

Hugh Jackman has revealed what he really thinks of State of Origin after New South Wales' victory over Queensland.

The Sydney-born Hollywood actor, 55, celebrated after proudly watching the Blues win in one of the best and most dramatic footy games ever.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Wednesday evening, the Wolverine star was delighted with the result, showing his support for the Blues as he watched the game on television.

'Historic decider victory! At Lang Park,' Hugh wrote.

'Go the blues!!!!!!! This is the greatest rivalry in all sports.'

Outside of Origin, Hugh is known to be a fan of the Manly Sea Eagles NRL team.

New South Wales ensured they fully basked in their famous triumph over Queensland on Wednesday night after the Blues achieved a feat only three visiting teams have done before in Brisbane.

Michael Maguire's side's 14-6 victory over their fierce rivals the Maroons ensured the State of Origin shield's return south, with their win only the third occasion that the team has got one over Queensland on enemy soil.

Wednesday night's result will live long in the memories of Blues tragics and Jarome Luai played a crucial role in sealing victory, with his line-breaking burst setting up Bradman Best for NSW's first try of the game.

Angus Crichton capped an immense series to be crowned Wally Lewis Medall winner as player of the series while recalled centre Bradman Best was also superb in filling the Latrell Mitchell void.

Fullback Dylan Edwards (236 run metres) won man-of-the-match to make it two wins from two Origin appearances.

Winger Zac Lomax backed himself to kick a penalty goal from the sideline to make the game 2-2 early in the second half, then drilled another conversion from the opposite side after Best's try.

Halfback Mitchell Moses iced the game when he danced through the line, but finished the game on the sideline with an apparent arm injury.

Cameron Murray and Jeremiah Nanai were sin-binned as tempers boiled over in a first-half State of Origin decider scuffle that spilled over the sideline.

Queensland backrower Nanai elevated a push-and-shove between his captain Daly Cherry-Evans and NSW playmaker Jarome Luai when he barged into the pair, before Murray sensationally came from the bench to join the action.

Players came from all sides - some even wearing suits as non-playing squad members - as television monitors and chairs were scattered by the flying bodies.
