Recently, we had the privilege of organizing a field visit to the Beddagana Wetland Park for the students of Thittapattara K.V, under the expert guidance of Miss. Narmadha (Environmental Consultant- Dilmah Conservation). This visit wasn’t just about exploring a beautiful wetland; it was an immersive experience where the children delved deep into the wonders of biodiversity. From learning about the intricate balance of ecosystems to understanding the vital importance of conservation, these young minds were given the chance to connect with nature in a meaningful way. By fostering this connection, we hope to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, helping them realize the role they play in protecting our planet's future. We are thrilled to announce that we've successfully facilitated access to clean water by installing a new water supply system at Meethirigala K.V. directly benefiting 450 students. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to ensuring that every student has access to the basic necessities that are crucial for their health, well-being and educational success. Understanding the importance of long-term sustainability, we also conducted an engaging awareness session for the students, focusing on water conservation. During this session, we discussed practical ways to conserve water and encouraged the students to implement these best practices not just at school but also in their households. By educating the younger generation, we aim to foster a culture of conservation that will ripple through their families and communities, ensuring that the impact of this project extends far beyond the school grounds. We are excited to share Linea Aqua's recent collaboration with MAS BPU, Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC, Dilmah Tea, Lalan Rubbers, Biodiversity Sri Lanka and the Department of Wildlife Conservation of Sri Lanka! Together, we distributed reusable bags made from waste fabric to thousands of Pada Yathra pilgrims journeying from Jaffna to Kataragama between May and July. At Aqua, our commitment to sustainability drives us to find innovative ways to reduce environmental impact. By providing fabric bags crafted from waste materials, we aim to reduce polythene usage among pilgrims during this sacred journey significantly. This effort is part of our broader mission to promote responsible production and environmental stewardship. The Pada Yathra pilgrimage, an inspiring tradition where devotees travel entirely on foot, passes through the Kumana and Yala National Parks. Our initiative aims to mitigate this impact by offering an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastics. We are proud to support these dedicated pilgrims and our planet by encouraging sustainable practices.
