Hawzah News Agency- Senior Iraqi cleric Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Taqi Modarresi hosted a group of representatives of the Abadan seminary in his office in Karbala on Friday, January 24.
In this meeting, Ayatollah Modarresi, referring to the key role of scholars in Islamic societies, reminded of the need to restore the Holy Quran to its central position in the educational programs of seminaries.
The senior cleric further emphasized that the teaching of Quranic sciences, including recitation, memorization, contemplation of verses, and extracting rulings and insights from the Holy Quran, should be a main part of the educational system of seminaries.
He also highlighted the key role of learning Arabic, considering it the language of revelation and the key to a deeper understanding of religious teachings. Ayatollah Modarresi called for greater efforts to educate and teach the Arabic language in seminaries to improve the academic level of students.
The Iraqi scholar also urged students to make greater efforts to learn and practice religious knowledge, in order to acquire the necessary ability to properly guide society and fulfill their religious mission.
