The Northern Territory’s new home for First Nations art has been formally named as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Gallery of Australia (ATSIAGA). The ATSIAGA unveiling coincided with the awarding of the first construction phase contract to Sitzler. Sitzler Pty Ltd will now work with design consultants BVN Architecture and Susan Dugdale & Associates to complete the design development stage. The second construction phase contract is anticipated to be awarded later this year. It is anticipated ATSIAGA will open in 2027 with construction to be completed by late 2026, followed by a period of approximately six months to build and install exhibitions. Tamboran Resources Corporation has received approval for its Environment Management Plan (EMP) to construct exploration sites, and drill and undertake flow testing of to 15 natural gas wells in the Beetaloo Sub-basin. The EMP meets stringent assessment criteria and aligns with the Northern Territory’s net zero by 2050 target. The Beetaloo Sub-basin, 500 km southeast of Darwin, covers 28,000 square kilometres and is estimated to contain 500 trillion cubic feet of gas (P50 gas-in-place resource as estimated by industry). That estimate is just for the Velkerri B layer and does not include other known gas-bearing geological layers. The highly prospective multi-stacked shale gas resources of the Beetaloo Sub-basin are being compared to the productive Marcellus Basin in the northeast United States, and it continues to build a reputation as the next Tier One gas asset worldwide. #Beetaloo #NorthernTerritory

Defence Australia has switched on its largest solar farm, right here in Australia's Northern Territory. The 10-megawatt solar farm made up of over 27,000 solar panels will supply up to 40 per cent of the energy needs of Robertson Barracks in Darwin. This is the delivery of Defence’s second solar project in the Northern Territory following the launch of a 3.2-megawatt solar farm at RAAF Base Darwin in January this year. The Northern Territory has significant tracts of land with world class solar irradiance, highly suited to large-scale (and mega-scale) solar and renewables projects. The Territory is working with investors to realise ambitious projects, from a 3.2-megawatt solar farm for a defence base; to an onshore and subsea transmission project supplying 15% percent of Singapore's total energy needs.

Tamboran Resources Corporation have released flow rates from their pilot project at Shenandoah South 1H (SS-1H) signally a pivotal milestone for the Beetaloo Sub-basin. SS-1H has recorded the highest normalised rates of gas flow achieved in the Beetaloo Sub-basin to date. These results exhibit the commercial viability of the project, with Tamboran now moving onto the construction phase and have outlined the potential for natural gas to be delivered to the Northern Territory in 2026. The Beetaloo Sub-basin is 500km southeast of Darwin in the Barkly region. The Beetaloo Sub-basin covers 28,000 square kilometres and is a multi-layered shale play with an estimated 500 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas (P50 gas-in-place resource as estimated by industry). The highly prospective resources of the Beetaloo Sub-basin are being compared to the productive Marcellus Basin in the northeast of the United States, and there are other layers and basins yet to be explored.
