Ahead of the upcoming Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up, Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis visited the Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility to discuss the importance of the annual free cyclone clean up that City of Darwin provides every year. The Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up service helps Darwin residents get their properties cyclone-ready. It is also a fantastic opportunity to keep items out of landfill by donating, repairing, reusing, or recycling them. During his visit, the Lord Mayor spoke with the HPA team who run the Trash and Treasure shop about recycling and giving unwanted items a new lease on life. For more details about the Pre-Cyclone Clean-Up, visit https://lnkd.in/eBB4hzvK City of Darwin is committed to keeping the community clean and sustainable.

We are grateful for the opportunity to present the Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility at the NT Branch Conference. Hosting a tour for IPWEA Queensland & Northern Territory (IPWEA-QNT) was a pleasure, as it showcased the core aspects of waste management and recycling for Greater Darwin. Both the conference and tour provided valuable insights into the design, construction, and operational best practices at Shoal Bay. These initiatives are crucial for promoting sustainable waste management, environmental protection, and advancing the NT circular economy. The partnership with LMS ENERGY is an exciting step to meeting our goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Darwin. City of Darwin remains committed to fostering a cool, clean, and green city.
