Kv 채널 상호작용 단백질 2 는 KCh 라고도 한다.IP2 는 인간에게 KCNIP2 유전자 에 의해 암호화된 단백질 이다.[5] [6]
함수 이 유전자는 EF핸드 슈퍼패밀리의 리페린 분기에 속하는 전압 게이트 칼륨(Kv ) 채널 상호작용 단백질(KCNIP, 흔히 "KCHIP"라고도 함) 계열의 한 부재를 암호화한 것이다.[7] KCNIP 계열의 구성원들은 작은 칼슘 결합 단백질이다. 이들은 모두 EF-핸드 방식의 도메인을 가지고 있으며, N-terminus 에서는 서로 다르다. 이들은 K4v 채널 단지의 필수 서브 유닛 구성품이다. 그들은 세포내 칼슘의 변화에 대응하여 A형 전류, 즉 뉴런의 흥분성을 조절할 수 있다. 대체 스플라이싱은 여러 개의 대본 변형이 서로 다른 ISO 양식을 인코딩하는 결과를 낳는다.[6]
