What's the point

[edit]

Didn't we create this to store non-GND identifiers from that website? In the meantime, a banned users seems to have repurposed it to a second GND property. Do we need this redundancy or should we just drop it?

I am honestly uncertain, this property and Sächsische Biografie (GND) ID (P1710) effectively have a limited usefulness in my opinion ... I would like to hear @Emu, Kolja21: about the issue. --Epìdosis 12:32, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't remember when it changed but originally this property was indeed for DtBio IDs: pnd12345 (= same as GND) and sfz12345 (non GND-IDs). Deutsche Biographie (Q1202222) and Sächsische Biografie (Q1228663) don't have a high priority but they are still useful sources and as a side effect both properties help to find duplicates. --Kolja21 (talk) 13:42, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We could just store the data in the GND property, so no info is lost and duplicates are still detected. --- Jura 14:19, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How? --Emu (talk) 16:13, 29 October 2021 (UTC) [reply]
How would the result look like? For example in the case of Leopold Schöller (Q1819829). GND ID (P227): 138184046 = redirect (deprecated rank) vs. Deutsche Biographie (GND) ID (P7902): 138184046 (normal rank). --Kolja21 (talk) 22:47, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to me that statements for both properties have currently issues. This could be solved, but isn't directly related. --- Jura 10:39, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
