property scope constraint (Q53869507) specifies how to use the property: for the main value of a statement, in a reference or as qualifier. You can specify single usage, for example for the main value of a statement only. Or multiple usage, for example: for the main value and in reference section.

This constraint applies to most properties, e. g. head of government (P6), father (P22), mother (P25), Freebase ID (P646), etc.

Parameters

This constraint has one mandatory parameter:

property scope (P5314)
Acceptable values are as main value (Q54828448), as qualifier (Q54828449) and as reference (Q54828450). You can specify one or multiple values.

In case where property should only be used as qualifier or in references. This constraint fails only when the property is used directly on items.

When the constraint is set to the property, the following template is automatically displayed in the property talk page. The template is created by Module:Constraints using Template:Constraint, invoked from Template:Property documentation. Translations are defined at Module:i18n/constraints.

Scope is as qualifier (Q54828449), as reference (Q54828450): the property must be used by specified way only (Help)
Exceptions are possible as rare values may exist. Exceptions can be specified using exception to constraint (P2303).
