I've only used this stand for miking amplifiers and speaker cabs. Its easy to set a level and it stays in place once its been set.
It seems like it would work great for miking kickdrums, snares, toms, should work good for vocals while sitting ect
Why should you buy this when you got the standard taller ones for vocals? Because when youre miking smaller combo amps for example its much harder to get the right level aswell as angle with the taller stand. When micking amps the smallest detail is crucial to the sound so you really want to have a stand made for this. Also this stand doesnt take up nearly as much space as the standard ones which also comes into the equation when recording as you have to make use of every surface possible.
