Margaret Barclay-Maitland was the daughter of Hon. Charles Barclay-Maitland of Tillicoultrie and Isabel Barclay of Towie.1 She married, firstly, Major Archibald Erskine, son of John Erskine and Anne Stirling, on 7 April 1781.2 She married, secondly, Charles Ogilvy before 1822.1 She married, thirdly, Charles Dundas, 1st and last Baron Amesbury, son of Thomas Dundas of Fingask and Lady Janet Maitland, on 25 January 1822.1 She died on 21 April 1841 at Portobello, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 Her will was proven (by probate) in June 1841.1
From 7 April 1781, her married name became Erskine.1 From before 1822, her married name became Ogilvy.1 From 25 January 1822, her married name became Dundas.1 After her marriage, Margaret Barclay-Maitland was styled as Baroness Amesbury on 16 May 1832.

Lt.-Gen. William Amherst was baptised on 5 February 1732.2 He was the son of Jeffrey Amherst and Elizabeth Kerrill.3 He married Elizabeth Paterson, daughter of Thomas Paterson, on 31 March 1766.2 He died on 13 May 1781 at age 49.2
He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to King George III.2 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Portsmouth.2 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Newfoundland.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General.2

Jane Dalison was born on 14 February 1722/23.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Dalison and Jane Etherington.1 She married Field Marshal Jeffrey Amherst, 1st Baron Amherst of Holmesdale, son of Jeffrey Amherst and Elizabeth Kerrill, on 20 May 1753 at Gray's Inn Chapel, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 7 January 1765 at age 41 at Tonbridge, Kent, EnglandG, without issue.1 She was buried at Plaxtole, Kent, EnglandG.1
