Celebrity Couples Who Married Without Prenups

Shortly after Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos ended their 25-year marriage in 2019, it became apparent that the couple had not signed a prenup, and it didn't appear as if there was a postnuptial agreement. The couple split amicably and, as they filed for divorce in Washington state - where the law holds assets and property are to be divided equally between spouses - the Bezos's $137 billion dollar fortune will be happily halved. The situation was less amicable for Amazon's stockholders, however.
Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got married (without a prenup) on September 13, 2018. Bieber is reportedly worth anywhere between $83.5 and $265 million while Baldwin's net worth is reportedly in the $3 million range.
As of April 2019, Bieber and Baldwin are still married.
Johnny Depp & Amber Heard
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard did not sign a prenuptial agreement when they married in 2015. Heard received a $7 million settlement when the couple's divorce was finalized in 2017 and a representative for the actor stated she would be donating at least some of the proceeds of the divorce to charity.
Seth Rogen & Lauren Miller
When Seth Rogen wed longtime girlfriend Lauren Miller in 2011, he decided to ignore his business manager's advice and skip a prenup. "Marriage can be expensive and if I lose millions then it'll be the best millions I've spent," the actor told Howard Stern.
As of April 2019, the couple is still happily married.

Katy Perry & Russell Brand
Russell Brand and Katy Perry did not sign a prenup when they married in 2010. When they divorced 14 months later in 2012, Brand waived any claim to Perry's reported $44 million net worth.
Perry even signed the divorce papers with a smiley face.
The-Dream & Christina Milian
Terius "The-Dream" Nash and Christina Milian called it quits just months after getting married in Las Vegas in 2009. The couple reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement.
Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore did not sign a prenuptial agreement when they married in 2005. When their divorce was ultimately finalized in 2013, Kutcher reportedly gave Moore a large settlement despite the fact that she was worth $150 million on her own.
Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey did not sign a prenup when they married in 2002. When they decided to call it quits three years later, Simpson was worth much more than Lachey. Simpson offered Lachey $1.5 million as a divorce settlement but he refused.
Lachey reportedly ended up with more than that, but much less than half of their $36 million in assets.
Paul McCartney & Heather Mills
In 2002, Paul McCartney married Heather Mills without a prenuptial agreement. When the couple divorced in 2008, Mills was awarded a settlement of almost $50 million from the former Beatle, who is reportedly worth approximately $800 million.
Rumor has it McCartney once again skipped a prenup with his third wife, Nancy Shevell, in 2011. Instead, he reportedly opted for a one-page legal document stating his children's trust funds are off limits should their union end in divorce.
Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale
When Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's divorce was finalized in 2016, after 13 years of marriage, Stefani ended up with more of the couple's property. No prenup was signed, so Rossdale was entitled to a 50/50 split, but he did not ask for much of Stefani's concert and record sales.
The couple also agreed to 50/50 joint custody of their three children.
Jennifer Lopez & Cris Judd
Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd did not have a prenuptial agreement when their 2001 marriage ended in divorce less than a year later. Despite only being together nine months, Judd was eventually awarded a reported $14 million.
Madonna & Guy Ritchie
Madonna and Guy Ritchie ended their seven-year marriage in 2008. Although they did not have a prenuptial agreement, the divorce settlement was reportedly amicable with Ritchie receiving approximately $60 million in assets.
Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillippe
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe did not have a prenup with they married in 1999. The two split in 2006 and reportedly reached an amicable conclusion when their divorce finalized in 2008.
Larry King & Shawn Southwick
Larry King did not ask Shawn Southwick to sign a prenuptial agreement when the couple married in 1997. When King filed for divorce in 2010, King was reportedly worth $144 million.
King and Southwick soon reconciled and are still married to this day.
Kelsey & Camille Grammer
Kelsey and Camille Grammer married - without a prenup - in 1996. Their 2010 divorce reportedly ended with the couple splitting their $60 million in assets right down the middle when everything was finalized in 2012.

Tom Arnold and Roseanne Barr didn't have a prenup when they married in 1990. Arnold received $50 million in his 1994 divorce settlement with Roseanne Barr after only four years of marriage.
Michael Jordan & Juanita Jordan
Michael Jordan and Juanita Jordan did not sign a prenup when they were married in 1989, however, a postnup was drawn-up and signed in 1991. When the couple divorced in 2006, Juanita reportedly received a $168 million settlement.
Jordan's current wife, Yvette Prieto, was reportedly required to sign a prenup when they married in 2013 to protect the NBA legend's estimated $650 million estate.
Garth Brooks & Sandy Mahl
Because they didn't sign a prenup, Garth Brooks reportedly paid a $125 million settlement to his wife of 15 years, Sandy Mahl, when the couple divorced in 2001.
Mel & Robyn Gibson
Mel Gibson paid out a settlement of $425 million to Robyn Moore, his wife of 31 years, when their divorce was finalized in 2011. Needless to say, the Braveheart star/director did not have a prenup, therefore his ex was entitled to half of his $850 million estate.
