Limited to start preseason
Spencer was shut down at the end of the Summer League with a minor ankle sprain, but it's unclear if this is related. A second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Spencer was already facing an uphill battle to crack the rotation before this injury.

Out at least four weeks
While Williams is expected to make a full recovery, he will almost certainly miss all of training camp and the preseason. The 24-year-old forward could remain sidelined for Memphis' regular-season opener Oct. 23 against Utah. Williams is slated to be one of the Grizzlies' top forward options off the bench when healthy this season.

Heading to Memphis
Kawamura spent the last five seasons in Japan and wasn't selected in the 2023 NBA Draft. He made 56 appearances for Yokohama in Japan last year and averaged 20.9 points, 8.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 30.6 minutes per game. After playing for Japan during the Paris Olympics, Kawamura will have a chance to compete for a role with the Grizzlies ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
