Malcolm Brogdon

Taking on leadership role Brogdon was acquired by the Wizards via trade during the offseason, and he said Monday that joining the team felt like a "full-circle moment." The eight-year vet out of Virginia spent last season with the Trail Blazers, during which he averaged 15.7 points, 5.5 assists and 3.8 rebounds across 28.7 minutes per game in only 39 regular-season appearances. Brogdon will likely play a key role in the rotation while mentoring the club's young backcourt talent -- Carlton Carrington, Jared Butler and Johnny Davis. With a few young options in the backcourt the Wizards could look to trade Brogdon with one-year remaining on his contract, but he will likely begin the season with the Wizards while taking on a key leadership role.

Kevin Huerter

Ramping up ahead of season Huerter is six months out from suffering a dislocation and labral tear to his left shoulder. The 26-year-old said Monday that he is not yet cleared for contact, but he feels good and could be cleared for 5-on-5 action before the beginning of the regular season. Huerter appeared in 64 regular-season outings last season, during which he averaged 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 24.4 minutes per game.

Cam Reddish

Says he’s good to go Reddish battled numerous injuries last season, including a lingering ankle issue that sidelined him for the postseason. The Duke product shined defensively at times when the Lakers were shorthanded, but with Gabe Vincent and Jalen Hood-Schifino back in the mix, plus the additions of Dalton Knecht and Bronny James, Reddish has an uphill battle for playing time in Los Angeles.

Damion Lee

Fully available for start of camp Lee missed the entire 2023-24 campaign due to meniscus surgery but rejoined the Suns on a one-year deal in early July. The 31-year-old carved out a decent role during his first year with Phoenix in 2022-23, averaging 8.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 20.4 minutes per game. Assuming he doesn't face any setbacks during camp, it wouldn't be surprising to see him earn a role in the rotation once again this year.

Onuralp Bitim

Good to go for camp Bitim suffered a detached retina in his right eye during the Bulls' penultimate game last season and underwent two surgeries this offseason to fix the issue. However, he's back to 100 percent ahead of training camp and will be battling for the final Opening Night roster spot.

Andrew Wiggins

Expected to shoot more 3s With Klay Thompson out of the picture, the Warriors will turn to other sources for offensive production, especially from deep. Wiggins attempted 6.1 three-pointers per game in 2022-23, but that number dropped to 3.6 last season, his lowest mark since 2016-17. Kerr also said he hopes Wiggins will seize the opportunity ahead of him and emerge as the Warriors' No. 2 scoring option behind Stephen Curry.

Mike Conley

Will have rest days in 2024-25 At 36 years old, Conley made 76 regular-season appearances, his most since 2012-13, and played in 15 of Minnesota's 16 playoff games. While Conley was excellent in his role last year, Finch clearly thinks that many appearances won't be sustainable for the veteran point guard. Fantasy managers should anticipate rest days when drafting Conley, who might have a similar setup as Al Horford has had in Boston over the last couple of years.

Kyrie Irving

Feels good heading into camp Irving said he had trouble winding down his activity following the Mavericks' loss to the Celtics in the NBA Finals. He went right back to work in competitive settings, which is where he broke his left hand. However, Irving said it was a blessing in disguise because it allowed him to rest and recover for the remainder of the offseason. He was shut down for eight weeks following his surgery in mid-July but has been ramping up his activity and remains on track for Opening Night.

Jarred Vanderbilt

Iffy for Opening Night Vanderbilt had procedures on both feet during the offseason, and there's been some optimism that he could be ready to face Minnesota on Oct. 22 to open the season. Vanderbilt said his rehab process has been going great, and it will be interesting to see how he progresses throughout the preseason.

Josh Giddey

Close to 100 percent Giddey injured his ankle on the last play and has been sidelined since, as it was more serious than originally realized. Giddey said he will be conservative when training camp opens, and it sounds like the Bulls may hold him out of some stuff. Based on his comments, Giddey sounded like he was on the verge of a full return.
