Jesse played rugby at the University of Victoria while Maya played basketball at the University of Saskatchewan … Father coached university basketball in Canada and coached the Canadian Junior Men’s National Team from 1983-96 … Mother was a referee for women’s basketball and worked for the Toronto Raptors as an official scorer from 1995-2004 … He and his wife, Jackie, were married in August of 2022 … Participated in the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders camp in India in 2018 … Attended South Kamloops High and was named the Basketball B.C. Outstanding High School Player of the Year as a senior after leading the Titans to a 36-2 record.
