COLLEGE NOTES: Dillon Jones completed one of the great careers in Weber State and Big Sky history in 2024. He finished his career as a Big Sky MVP, a three-team All-Big Sky selection, a three-time All-District selection, and a former conference Freshman of the Year. He played in 119 career games at Weber State and finished his career ranking in the Weber State career top 10 in 13 different categories. He finished his career as WSU’s all-time leader in steals, and ranks second in assists, second in free throws made, third in rebounding, and fifth in scoring. He also finished his career ranking fourth in Big Sky history in career rebounds and 10th in steals. Also finished with 56 career double-doubles, the second-most in WSU history. He finished his career as the only player in Big Sky history with at least 1,500 career points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists, and 200 steals. Since the 1992-93 season, he is one of only four players in the nation to post those numbers in a career. 2023-24: Started in 31 games for the Wildcats and was named the Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player and earned first-team All-District honors, after leading Weber State to a 20-win season…Became the 10th player in WSU history to be named Big Sky MVP and was also the preseason MVP…Was also a top-five finalist for the Julius Erving Award, given to the top small forward in the country…Was named the Big Sky Player of the Week eight times during the season…Finished the regular season leading the Big Sky in points, rebounds, and assists, the only player in the country to lead a conference in all three categories…Was also one of two players in the country to average at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists per game…Led the conference and was 23rd in the nation in points per game at 20.8…Scored 644 points during the year, tied for the ninth-most in a season in school history… Was 23rd in the country in rebounding and third in the nation in defensive rebounds per game…Had 305 total rebounds, the 13th-most in a season…Recorded 18 double-doubles on the year, the 11th most of any player in the country…Scored in double figures in all 31 games, scored 20 or more 17 times, and scored 30 points twice…Also had double figures in rebounds 18 times…Scored a then-career-high 29 points with 10 rebounds in Weber State’s win at No. 23 Saint Mary’s on November 12, WSU’s first win over a ranked opponent in 23 years…He was named the National Player of the Week for his performance...Also had 29 in a win over Montana State and a win at Idaho…Scored a career-high 30 points at Montana, then had 30 again in a historic win over Northern Colorado on February 29…In that game, he had 30 points, a career-high 23 rebounds, and tied his career-high with nine assists… The 23 rebounds is a Dee Events Center record and were the most rebounds in a game by any player in the country this season…He was the first player in the country to post a 30-point, 23 rebound, 9-assist game in at least 13 years…Led the Big Sky in assists at 5.2 per game and had nine assists in a game four times…Recorded 162 assists, the fifth-most in a season in WSU history…Was third in the Big Sky in steals at 2.0 per game…Had 61 steals on the year, the sixth-most ever in a season…Per Sports Reference, he is the only player since at least the 1992-93 season, to record at least 600 points, 300 rebounds, 160 assists, and 50 steals in a season…Also finished eighth in the country in minutes per game at 37.0… Earned Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors and Academic All-District honors.
