PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Jaxson has appeared in 311 career games (52 starts) for the Lakers and Pelicans. He has scored double figures in 84 career games, including 10 games with 20+ points, and nine career double-doubles. Hayes has 10 career playoff game appearances (6 starts) for Los Angeles and New Orleans. He was selected 8th overall by Atlanta in the 2019 NBA Draft, but was signed by New Orleans after they acquired the draft rights. Jaxson signed with the Lakers on July 6, 2023.

BEFORE NBA

At the University of Texas, Hayes was the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year, All-Big 12 Second Team selection, Big 12 All-Defensive Team, Big 12 All-Newcomer Team and Big 12 All-Freshman team honoree. He played in 32 games (21 starts), averaging 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 23.3 minutes per contest. He set the UT single-season record for field goal percentage (.728, 123-169 FG), and of his 123 made field goals on the year, 74 were dunks. He set a school record for consecutive field goals made (18) and made four straight games (Purdue, Grand Canyon, Providence, and UTA) without missing a field goal.

PERSONAL LIFE

Jaxson was born in Norma, Oklahoma, but his family relocated to Cincinnati when he was 3 years old. His father, Jonathan, was an All-American tight end at the University of Iowa and played 12 seasons in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs (1985-93) and Pittsburgh Steelers (1994-96), and later spent 15 seasons as the tight ends coach for the Cincinnati Bengals (2003-18). His mother, Kristi, played basketball at Drake University (1991-95) and earned honorable Kodak All-American accolades and Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year honors. Jaxson has one younger sister, Jillian, and two younger brothers, Jewett and Jonah.
