We are proud to have launched services between Melbourne, Brisbane and Uluru, adding more than 62,000 great value seats each year to Australia’s Red Centre. Uluru is an incredibly important destination for Virgin Australia as one of the most iconic cultural landmarks in Australia and a much-loved place for holiday makers to visit from all over the world. Through our partnerships with the world’s leading international airlines, our new services connect Uluru to more than 600 destinations around the globe, creating a new seamless gateway of travel for Australians and international visitors alike. To celebrate, more than 80 stakeholders from the worlds of government, tourism, media, sport, beauty and fashion attended a launch event at Ayers Rock Resort’s famous Wintjiri Wiru platform last week, generating hundreds of pieces of media and social media coverage of Uluru, which contributes to the nation’s more than $6bn indigenous tourism economy. We look forward to continuing to expand our network, providing more choice, value, and opportunities for Velocity Frequent Flyer members to earn and redeem Points. Thank you to our partners Tourism NT, Northern Territory Government, Tourism Australia, Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, Melbourne Airport, Brisbane Airport Corporation and gotoskincare. #VirginAustralia #Uluru Virgin
How thrilling! Let's go there right now, please ✈️
How exciting! Take us there right now please ✈️
I lived in the Australian Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta) a few years. After working Transportation Program Coordinator for State of Alaska, I can appreciate the noninvasive boardwalk over terrain, and if memory serves me right, one can no longer hike on top of "Uluru (Ayers Rock)" scared monument so this might be as close as one can get!
Great to see new connectivity into this iconic destination - congratulations!
Really well done. VA. Putting buzz and critical air capacity back into Uluru. Seriously well done also Matt Cameron-Smith & team for playing the long-game to keep helping facilitate and inspire more flying into the Red Centre.
I love so much Australia and its people 😍 There is not a better way to know it and discover different cities in Australia that do it with Virgin Australia 😜
What about developing a supersonic passenger jet, small in size, fast in speed? That would have some great client list.
