About us
The Just Trust is 100% dedicated to scaling, aligning, and deploying resources across the criminal justice reform ecosystem. Through a seed investment of $350 million, our team of experts is here to power the hard work of advocates – state by state and across the country – as well as help build a big tent of creative alliances, level up flexible 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 resources, center the work of directly impacted individuals, and sustain the calls for durable reform among the mainstream. We do this in service of a smaller, more humane, more dignified engine of justice and safety.

Yesterday meant a lot to us at The Just Trust. Right when we launched our 2024 annual report, the Oklahoma Survivor Justice Act went into effect. This years-in-the-making law offers a path to resentencing for survivors of abuse, marking the first time in Oklahoma’s history that violent offenses have been eligible for reconsideration. In our report, Program Officer Rebecca A. Greenberg dives into the backstage efforts, the diverse coalition that led it, and the huge role that Oklahoma Appleseed and many other partners played in making this a reality.
