So much learning at Climate Week NYC! 2024 was bigger than ever, with 900 events in total – and SEI Deputy Director Steve Miller was in the midst of it all! "I was honored to represent SEI in Manhattan and on Governors Island last week," Miller said, both as an event speaker and attendee. Miller joined leaders in entrepreneurship, policy, and climate solutions – and is bringing everything he learned back to SEI's team. #seisustainability #ClimateWeekNYC

Which skills are needed to drive climate action? ➡️ This was the question Cyane Dandridge and other leaders addressed at Harvard University last week, discussing new applications of the Inner Development Goals (IDG). SEI demonstrates the skills outlined in the IDG Framework and integrates the development of these into our programs. #seisustainability Learn more about the The IDG Framework: https://lnkd.in/d5khA8Y5

SEI was thrilled to welcome Kristy Drutman as our Climate Corps speaker, leading a workshop on Intersectional Environmentalism!🌟🌿 #seisustainability #climatecorps Founder of Brown Girl Green and Co-Founder of the Green Jobs Board, Drutman emphasized the power of INCLUSION. "We need to address the significant lack of diverse leading and voices in the environmental space," Drutman said. Making environmentalism #intersectional – uplifting marginalized voices, centralizing local perspectives – "can be the difference between life and death for certain communities." Drutman left the Fellows with the following questions: 🌎 What is your environmental story? 👋 Who needs to hear it? 🕰️ When will you tell it?

SEI's team touring our local waste hauler's facility – Marin Sanitary Service!📍This facility is where the waste from communities in Marin Counties are sorted and processed. It can be difficult to know what material goes into what container, but it’s very important that we avoid contaminating our recycling or compostable streams. Learn more about where it goes by visiting your local waste hauler's website. Many haulers offer educational programming, and resources to help reduce your waste.♻️ #ZeroWasteMonth #seisustainability
