Massachusetts continues to strengthen its position as a key international trading partner. Secretary Hao represented our state in Taiwan during the U.S. and Canada Visitor Leadership Program, actively engaging in new opportunities to enhance our economic ties with Taiwan. Secretary Hao enjoyed learning about Taiwan’s strategic investment in economic development – from exporting bananas 50 years ago to now leading the world in semiconductors. Her favorite experiences were Taiwan’s delicious cuisine, hiking Elephant Mountain in Taipei, and visiting port cities Tainan and Kaoshiung. Taiwan is a vital partner in our tech sectors, and we look forward to continued collaboration.
