Downtown Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La.-- Downtown Shreveport Development officials are hopeful future tax credits could spur more growth in the downtown area.

There's a chance more buildings in downtown Shreveport may undergo renovation soon, said DDA Director Janie Landry.

Having additional space will improve the office occupancy. It also will help the downtown experience for those who live and visit there.

Landry is optimistic because of news she received Wednesday.

“Just today, we had a group from the National Park Service and Louisiana Office of Historic Preservation and they are looking at projects that have applied for the historic tax credit from a state and federal level. That is a huge incentive for buildings downtown,” said Landry.

Landry says companies in the film and production industry also have a increased interest in downtown Shreveport.
