I wonder how long it will be until the City of Grand Junction decides to make Main Street a pedestrian mall? Seems like the redesign of Fourth and Fifth streets and closing Whitman Park is the start. Gosh, we can be just like Denver and Boulder — whether we want it or not!

It would be great if The Daily Sentinel could publish the results of the nightly North Avenue drag races. Living four blocks away, I have no trouble hearing them but haven’t been able to attend.

I fully expect Mike Lindell to come up with yet another new product that he will hawk on TV — of course for only $25. A new line of designer ankle bracelets that a higher class of losers can wear while awaiting trial. The first model might be called Peters Pony adorned with glittering sequins.

On July 3, someone’s fireworks started a brush fire between the Tiara Vista Drive cul-de-sac and the Tiara Rado Golf Course. The concert at the golf course had just finished and attendees jumped in golf carts and ran to help with the fire. They formed a bucket brigade using a neighbor’s tras…

Is anyone else concerned for their safety and the safety of others going on the off ramp on Riverside Parkway to east U.S. Highway 50 to Orchard Mesa? It slants SO badly and it’s just a matter of time when a terrible disasters is going to happen. It is very obvious that there is a problem ju…

For those of you who apparently are driving without a license and must not have taken the driving test: If a storm knocks off power to the traffic lights, you treat the intersection like a four-way stop, not a Mad Max movie.

Thank you Buc-ee’s for providing a slogan for our city highway signs. Your billboard across from the new sign on I-70 is an inspiration. After spending millions on now-locked bathrooms around the city we can proudly say: “Grand Junction. You can hold it.”

I’m one of the ones who has used the “You Said It” to angrily vent, but please know I very much appreciate the Sentinel providing this forum and for the editorial board’s willingness to publish a variety of opinions.

We attended several JUCO games and they were all great. One evening, a grade school-age girl stopped a Georgia Highlander player on his way back to the dugout and asked him to sign her glove. The sweetest thing happened. After signing her glove, he took off his hat and asked her to sign his …

I am a Democrat, but I do not gloat because Donald Trump was found guilty. I don’t care that it is Donald Trump or the person who collects my trash. What I am elated about is that charges were brought against a defendant, the defendant was tried before 12 peers, the jury brought a verdict, a…

The design concepts for Whitman Park overlooked one critical necessity: parking. Where are people supposed to park in order to enjoy the reinvented park?

CMU students demanding that CMU help bring a stop to the Israel/Palestinian war by selling the 235 shares of Northrop Grumman stock held in its investment portfolio is utter nonsense. First, because it is a minuscule portion of the 148.9 million shares outstanding. And second, because shares…

From the river to the sea, Israel will always be. These protesting college kids will soon come to realize they were just pawns in a game and got caught up with mob mentality and outsiders. Kinda like Trump‘s followers, just sheep.

Whenever we consider protecting an area as a national monument, it’s for the good of the majority. There will always be a minority who are against it. Typically, it’s folks with a personal, financial interest (ranchers and people with mining claims). I’m confident that there were those again…

Why is it that the same airline flight from Montrose is $300 cheaper than Grand Junction? Come on Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority staff, you need to be helping locals instead of pushing them to leave town to fly!

What is happening with mail delivery in Grand Junction? This past week I received NO mail for six days ... not even junk mail. This is unacceptable! If the ridiculous idea of sending mail from here to Denver to be sorted, then back here to be delivered happens, then we are doomed!

You will normally find out that the smartest and most knowledgeable guys in the room are subscribers to The Daily Sentinel. We NEED it, our most valuable and dependable news source! SUBSCRIBE NOW.

Colorado legalized recreational marijuana in 2014. It took Grand Junction 10 years to open pot shops. Window of opportunity to make money was totally missed. We need 10 pot shops like we need 10 more churches.

So the liar, cheater, tax evader, adulterer, womanizer, rapist, self-serving egotist ... is now selling Bibles. If that doesn’t wake up America, I’m afraid nothing will!

Elected officials: We get it! You don’t like homeless people. They are a thorn in your side. Not good for business or new development. Please do us a favor and go back to the private sector where you belong. Homeless people can’t create profits which is why nonprofits have been taking care o…

I have what I call my “hole in the bucket” list of things I will never do again. At the age of 75 that list gets longer all the time.

You need, according to scientists, to be 21 to be able to smoke, drink alcohol and buy marijuana because your brain is not fully developed enough to make good decisions. But, politicians think it is OK for 18 year olds to vote?

I feel for the people in Texas who are impacted by the wildfire. But since the governor and legislators of that state are refusing to comply with Supreme Court rulings and apparently have sufficient funds to fund their own immigration efforts (although that is the purview of the federal gove…

I cannot see any sense (especially during the winter months and the fire months) to making my in-town letters travel all the way to Denver and back. Where are the “climate change” folks when they’re needed? Or the “economy is great” folks? I cannot imagine the price of a forever stamp will n…

Now that Golden Corral closed down suddenly, are the people that ran it going to refund all the money for gift cards? Just wondering.

So, the big question for extremist donors: Do you get a refund from the CD3 candidate that has bolted for the 4th CD? Or do you double down and donate to another candidate in CD3 knowing your past donation is backing a likely loser in CD4?
