Just wondering if maybe Hamas might be willing to swap their hostages for the Jan. 6 “hostages.”
Wondering if it is too early to begin planning for the August 2045 eclipse where the very center of totality will be passing over Grand Junction? I’m looking forward to a celestial 90th birthday celebration with all the friends and family I have left by then!
Shocked, just shocked that wolves are destroying cattle in northern Colorado. The answer from Parks and Wildlife? Hire “range riders.” At what cost? Offset it by raising licenses even more? Just another horrible example of the Front Range knowing more than the farmers, ranchers and Western Colorado. Maybe, just maybe, the wolves should be relocated to the counties who voted for the reintroduction. They voted for wolves, let them deal with it. Animal Hunger Games in Boulder. They’d soon pivot on gun control too, leaving the rest of us law-abiding citizens alone.
First off, I would like to say how wonderful our city park staff is. Their hard work is what continues to create the spaces around us that are so fantastic in serving our community. Thank you. But why are certain people given free rein to destroy these spaces? As an example, the parking lot at Canyon View Park is quickly being torn up by street racing in the night hours. Public money was just spent in redoing these areas and now it is being ruined by a few idiots. May I suggest gating the park(s) in the evening to prevent this from occurring further. Pet owners and sports enthusiast could also use some motivation in cleaning up after themselves. These parks are diamonds in our valley. Let’s keep them shining!
So Trump and many of his congressional Republicans think the rioters who entered the Capital on Jan. 6 are patriots and hostages. So if this same destruction and harm to police happens to occur at Mar-a-logo or the homes and offices of those Republicans, would they still consider the rioters hostages and patriots? I think not as they would be filing charges against those rioters and wanting them to be sent to prison. This is a sad situation by Trump and the Republicans for our democracy.
Finally, a judicial warning to all parents that their parenting skills have consequences. Train your dog? No problem until he bites me. Driving erratically? No problem until you hurt me. Bring up your kid in your own disciplinary style? No problem until he/she mortally affects my kid. Bottom line: justice, jail time and reparation.
If a presidential election can be fake why not an eclipse?
The Grand Junction Gators Special Olympics basketball team would like to send out a big and special thank you to Valor Industries and Junction Square Pizza for their donations and to the community members who purchased candy bars over the past months to support the team’s fundraising efforts for our trip to Denver for the state Special Olympics basketball tournament in March. Taking first place was great, but it is more about the competition and camaraderie with other athletes and their Special Olympics partners. Thank you again for your support!
The City of Grand Junction seems to have more than enough money for projects: $3 million for a skate park, $789,000 for interim housing, $1 million for the Shonshone river project, but no money to resurface the streets. Some of the streets in this town are embarrassing.
The airport has figured out that you can drive customers away with high fees (fuel flow charge). High sales tax/lodging fees can and will do the same thing. Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?
Just asking for a friend. Our state Joint Budget Committee is making progress on a $40 billion dollar budget that includes special this and special that, and at-risk and new learners, and new “arrivals”, etc. What about “average Joe?” Anything definitive except for paying for all these “special things?” When do all these recipients get to work for perks?
There is only one person to blame for what Trump is doing to the country and that is Mitch McConnell. If Trump would have been impeached, he could not run for president. The many trials would still go on and on and on, but no one would care if he couldn’t be president.
